Unit 2: Assessing the Effectiveness of Your IT Organization
• Defining your IT mission and vision
• The importance of using a SWOT analysis to assess your IT organization’s strengths and weaknesses
• Defining your “vision” for IT as it relates to college or university goals
This session addresses the importance of evaluating your ability as an IT organization to achieve the desired strategic goals. A SWOT analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) provides information that is both helpful and a critical factor in strategy formulation and selection. This session addresses strategies to identify the current internal and external environmental dynamics that may have a bearing on the development and implementation of an effective IT plan.
